2026 Congress Theme:

Resilient and Adaptive Maritime Supply Chains in an Era of Global Disruptions

Maritime supply chain resilience has moved from a specialist concern to daily headlines. Red Sea shipping disruptions, Black Sea grain corridor uncertainty, Panama Canal drought restrictions, and recurring congestion at major global ports have all tested, in real time, how goods move across the world — and many researchers expect these pressures to intensify rather than ease, as fleets age, trade routes shift, and climate volatility becomes a permanent planning variable. This is exactly the ground LM-SCM2026 is built to cover: examining resilience, adaptability, digital transformation, sustainability, and innovation across every dimension of logistics and supply chain management, and turning headline-level disruption into rigorous, actionable understanding.

The congress brings together academics, industry professionals, policymakers, and graduate students — and it’s fitting that this year’s edition is hosted by Piri Reis University, Türkiye’s first and only maritime-specialized university, on the coast of Tuzla, in the middle of the country’s largest shipbuilding and maritime cluster.

These questions sit at the center of our keynote program: Dr. Thomas Sim, President of FIATA, opens the congress with a frontline view of global trade disruption; Professor Hercules Haralambides examines the path toward greener ports and shipping; Dr. Okan Tuna explores the shift from visibility to foresight in fragile supply chains; and Professor Theodoros Syriopoulos brings a shipping finance perspective on resilient business models.
